Summer To-Do List

Finally summer is here in Canada and I can't believe how relieved I am. Now that school is out I have time to do the things I have kept putting off during the busy winter months and I'm beyond excited. Some of these things require actually leaving my house though so we'll see how that turns out... But, anyway I have so many little random project that I have been slowly working on and goals that I have set for this summer and I feel so productive! As a procrastinator though it is easy to just end up scrolling through tumblr, reading blogs, and watching youtube videos from 9am-2am the next morning... Although my first little project does have to do with scrolling tumblr for hours and hours...

I know that it may seem like I'm just trying to put off everything by scrolling though tumblr for hours on end but I'm actually collecting photo's that I am going to put up on my wall behind my bed. I have been working on this for what seems like a year but really its only been a few days. I can't wait to get the pictures up because I have just had this empty wall staring me in the face since I renovated my room 3 YEARS ago when I was a freshman. I'm just getting a bit bored with my room and I really want to change it up a bit.

The next goal (I guess you could call it) I have is to learn guitar and re-learn how to play piano. I played piano when I was younger and was quite good but I had to quit because I was getting to busy as I got older. I regret quitting so much because I appreciate music so much more now and wish I could play beautifully like some of my friends can. Also, I got a guitar for my graduation present and it has just been sitting in the corner ever since I got it. Sure I'll pick it up every once in a while learn a couple cords and actually really enjoy it. But then all of a sudden a huge wave of stuff will hit me and I'll have no time to play. So now that I have time I have been playing and hopefully I can be kind of decent by the end of summer!

You can't make a to-do/goals post without mentioning exercise and healthy eating am I right or am I right? I know this is very basic of me but really I feel like I really need to start exercising more and eating healthier. Exams always cause me major stress and that also means eating... ALOT. Which is not a good thing especially  with summer having already arrived. So, I have been trying to exercise 4 times a week (not including my dance rehearsals) and cutting out the junk food, which surprisingly  isn't that hard if you just don't buy it and keep it out of your pantry.

Now this goal will be the toughest for me. To get out, do stuff with friends, and be happy. As a country kid it does get kind of difficult to go places because it is hard to either borrow a vehicle or get a ride from a parent. I have always envied the people that can just walk to their friends houses or bike because it's just so easy for them to be with their friends and have adventures. While I seem to be cooped up in my room on my laptop all day. I know this is mostly my fault though because I don't make much of an effort to meet up with friends so I need to make a change. I need to stop rejecting friends and saying "I'm busy" when in reality I'm just busy eating and watching Netflix because I'm feeling down that day but that seems to be happening more and more lately. So, I have realized that choosing to leave my house and do something even if I don't want to will end up boosting my overall happiness and I will spend less nights staring at the ceiling feeling sorry for myself. With that said, I am excited to get rolling and be productive with my summer and I hope you are too!

June Favourites!

Hello everyone, finally the stress of exams is over and summer has begun! As a procrastinator exams just do not sit well with me, as they don't many people. Come on who actually likes exams? No one. So, I am beyond happy to be able to just chill out this summer and maybe actually go out side, read a book (many books), and socialize! I honestly feel like I have not got together with friends in centuries and I miss human contact haha! I have so many things I want to get done and I can't wait to get started on all of it. I am also ready to get back into the swing of things with my blog and you can expect a post once  or twice a week. So, as this month of exams has now passed I thought I'd let you guys now some of my favourite things.

Skincare: Jergens Natural Glow + Firming Daily Moisturizer
$8.49
This stuff is my crack. I love it so much and it really does give you some colour. As an internet addict and book nerd I don't really go outside for the sole purpose of tanning. I just get so bored sitting doing nothing so the fact that I can get a bit of colour without actually making an effort to go outside is wonderful. It also doesn't make you orange which is never pretty... A lot of self tanners and tanning creams smell terrible, but this actually smells really good and it is not strong at all.

Beauty: NYX Bronzer Daydream in Molokai
$16.99
During June I really didn't wear much make-up since I was just studying the whole month. So, when I went to school all I would wear is concealer, bronzer, and mascara. This bronzer once again helped me look like I went outside when actually I was locked up in my room shoving information into my brain. I have always had shimmery bronzer and I have always kind of stayed away and avoided matte bronzer but I finally bought one and I clearly LOVE it. It is the perfect colour for my skin and it isn't orange at all. If you are considering trying out a matte bronzer I would definitely recommend this one.

Haircare: Bumble and bumble Surf Spray
$26.00
Oh. My. Gosh. This stuff is unreal. I have been hearing about it forever but never believed the hype and I could never bring myself to buy it since it is quite expensive. But, I am so ridiculously happy I did finally buy it. I have been using it everyday and I am addicted. I normally don't have wavy hair at all since my hair is just very thin, flat, and straight. But, oh baby this makes my hair unbelievably voluminous and wavy and I'm just in love. I just use it right when I get out of the shower and I blow dry my hair with a diffuser and bam my hair is fierce as can be. I could actually just rave about this stuff all day but lets move on.

Food: Rice Dream Chocolate Marble Fudge
So lately, I have been eating vegan and being addicted to ice cream I needed to find a replacement as soon as possible. This is a dairy free ice cream and it taste surprisingly like ice cream. You honestly would not know the difference if you compared it to actual ice cream. It's just that good and it is also very low on calories and is only 150 calories for half of the entire carton. Which kind of blows my mind and I also don't half to feel like a cow when I end up eating all of it in one sitting...

Random: One Tree Hill
Okay, we all know this is everyone's all time favourite show and this just adds to the fact that I am a common white girl. I've accepted it and I embrace it. I have recently been rewatching the entire series and I forgot how good it is! Plus, Chad Michael Murray is not exactly hard to look at if you know what I'm sayin. The plot lines are just so good and oh man all the feels are just flooding back. Although, I don't understand why everyone hates Peyton! She is my favourite on the show, I love her! That could just be because of her wonderful taste in music but hey it is impeccable.

Huge Spring Haul!

Hello friends, I'm back posting again! Well, I'm still not sure when I'll be posting next but I wanted to share the clothes and accessories I've collected over the last few months. This long cold Canadian winter is finally ending and a leather jacket is finally acceptable outerwear. So, I thought it was time to revamp my spring wardrobe and I've collected quite the stash... So lets get into it.

1. Flare Skirts from Forever 21

My goal lately has been to incorporate more colour into my wardrobe because I tend to be drawn towards black and grey clothing. So, when I saw this table of skirts I was all over them. Yeah yeah, I know one is grey but I couldn't resist! They are very flattering, fit perfectly and only $5.80 each. You can't go wrong with that.

2. Kimono from Pacsun

The Kendall and Kylie collection is always one of my favourite lines at Pacsun. I'm in love with their style and their clothing line is stuff you would actually see them wearing. Once again this kimono doesn't really go along with me colour rule but it has fringe and I thought it would look perfect with high-waisted jean shorts and a white t-shirt. (Sorry about the terrible photo, it was very difficult trying to get a picture of it!)

3. T-shirts from J-Crew and American Eagle

The pastel coloured t-shirts scream spring to me. I bought these when I went to Florida in March mostly so I'd look even more tan when I came home... Bright coloured t-shirts are my best friend once I get a bit of a tan. Although I do love a good comfy, oversized men's t-shirt too. Men's clothing is always more comfy, can someone explain to me why women's clothing isn't as soft as men's?

4. Palazzo Pants from Pacsun

Okay so, these pants where a second choice. I bought a pair of Palazzo pants in Florida and I lived in  them until we got home and washed them. Sadly, my new favourite pants shrunk in the wash, we didn't even put them in the dryer! So, I went out and bought the most similar pair of pants. I am happy that I have these now though :)

5. Crop Tops from Garage and Forever 21

Left-Garage Right-Forever 21

Crop tops are my favourite things to wear with anything high-waisted. As a child of a major rock fan I have grown to love bands like AC/DC so this long sleeved crop top is a more stylish version of all my band t-shirts. I have also wanted a bit of a shorter crop top so this cross body one is perfect.

6. Necklace from H&M

Chain necklaces are everywhere right now and this is now my favourite necklace I wear it all the time. It reminds me of something the Kylie Jenner or Miley Cyrus would wear and I adore both of them and their daring clothing choices.

7. Hat from Forever 21

AHHHHH! I finally got one of these adorable hats I have wanted for so long. I have a pea sizes head so it was difficult to find one that fit me. But, once I finally did I had to get it and I am obsessed with it. I sadly can't wear it at school so any chance I get to wear it, believe me I will wear it.

8. Disco Pants from H&M

I am so excited about these pants, I had been considering ordering the disco pants from American Apparel but couldn't bring myself to do it because they are so expensive. So once I found these for $25 I was in love. I wear them way too often and they are surprisingly very comfy.

9. Shoes from Nordstrom Rack

Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack are my go to spots for shoes. Nordstrom Rack is kind of a factory store for Nordstrom and it is great for shoes. You can get great quality shoes for a fraction of the actually price. Most of the time I end up saving more than I spend there. When I first saw these shoes I worried what people would say at school if I wore them. But, then I realized I shouldn't care and if I think they're cute I should buy them. So, I did and they are extremely comfy too.

Quick Update

Hello friends, if you cared enough to realize, I didn't post a wishlist this week haha. I have barely been home since I got back from my vacation in Florida. I feel like I'm being pulled in five hundred different directions all at once whether it's school, or dance, or family stuff. School just keeps on getting busier (why did I take all of these science and maths, not sure...), dance competitions are ramping up and so many other factors.

I don't mean to complain and I know this is no excuse! I'm just simply explaining why I am going to have a completely wacked out posting schedule for the next bit.

So, I won't be posting on any kind of schedule for the next month or so. I will try to post as much as I can and I want to give some different content other than just wishlists. I have so many ideas that I want to share! I'm so excited to have some extra time and hopefully I'll be able to increase the quality and quantity of my content.

I have really been enjoying this blogging thing so far and I really hope you guys have enjoyed it too. I am still active and regularly posting on my twitter (@MegOnTheWeb) and my Instagram (@megashfall) so make sure to check those out! Bye friends, xx

Weekly Wishlish (#4): The Leather Look

I'm so excited about this weeks wish list because faux leather just might be my favourite thing you can put on your body. I am attached to my black leather jacket it's all I ever wear, so why not more right?

This skirt is a combination of 2 things I love, faux leather and an A-Line fit. I've wanted one of these forever but the waist bands aren't stretchy obviously so it's difficult to find one that fits perfectly.

I love shift dresses and the added faux leather detail on the shoulder makes it even better. One of the perks of not being exactly busty is being able to where boxier things.

Faux Leather shorts seem to be absolutely impossible to find, whenever I find a awesome pair in a shop they never have my size or they don't fit properly. So, I'm scared to order these as they may not fit quite right. But, this pair is an awesome break from all the black and the zipper details make them different.

Blue and black faux leather? All in one jacket? Put it in my cart now. Faux leather jackets will always be my go to jacket when I'm running out the door, whether it's to go to school, dance class, or a nice dinner. They are so versatile and that's why I wear them to death.

These shoes though. I saw these in person for the first time this past week. I would have bought them if I hadn't gone to the converse store last. Who does that? Apparently me, and I will regret it until I find them again. Converse are my favourite shoe so when I found these I got a little over excited.

Weekly Wishlist (#3): DRESSed to Impress

This week as I am in the heat I have been wearing lots of dresses and I have seen so many dresses that I just about ripped off of people. I didn't don't worry, but they were very cute. So, I thought it was appropriate to share the dresses that I have been eyeing up recently.

This yellow maxi dress is so flowy and beachy. But since I am only 5'1 I have massive issues with buying any sort of bottom at all really. So this would probably drag behind me like a fancy wedding dress. I could work with it though right? It'll just increase my clumsyness.

I absolutely love this navy blue skater dress, it's nothing special but something about it makes me want it so much. I was about to order it for a semi-formal I had at my school a few months ago but ordering dresses off the internet scares me a little bit...

And dumb roll please.... This dress absolutely kills me, I am obsessed with high necklines like this and the fact that it is white lace just adds to my need for this dress. I really wish I had something to where this to, I may just buy it anyway though... I can't not, just look at it! It's perfection.

Which dress is your favourite?

Weekly Wishlist (#2): Lazy Sundays

This week I have been feeling particularly sluggish so I felt like making the wishlist revolve around those lazy Sundays where you cozy up on the couch and do nothing all day. And nothing says cozy like these furry slippers. I already have a red pair of these but I live in them so when they finally fall apart I want to have a backup pair.

These pants also looks extremely comfortable, I know they are more  of a beach pant but I would definitely wear them around the house. Also, I am completely obsessed with Youtube and baggy t-shirts (which you will come to realise). So, put those together and you've got me, to be honest I'll probably order a men's medium so it is nice and roomie.

Also roomie, this jumper dress. Oh does this look like the softest most comfortable thing that I could every put on my body. The pale pink colour and chunky turtle neck just add to the lust factor. All of these things make me want to curl up with a cup of tea and watch friends. One problem, it's not on Canadian Netflix (it's a tragedy, I know). So, my only option is to buy the entire series on DVD which I have wanted to do for so long because it is such a good show and not to mention a classic.

Lastly, who wants to wear makeup when they are just lying around watching friends? No one. This CC cream looks perfect. I have only heard great things about this product, I have tried and loved BB creams so I'd really like to see what this is like. I've heard it has a bit more coverage and makes your skin look flawless. Who doesn't want flawless skin right?

Are any of these things on your wishlist?
